This is a embroidered gouache painting by Shannon Rankin for her show Seaside at Pod, June 5-30, in Brookline, MA, USA. It was really hard to pick my favourite from her Seaside at Pod flickr set, they are all great ^_^.
Being back in Wellington, New Zealand from a visit to Germany I realised how much I love living by the see, so I might understand Shannon when she writes “At the end of a long and cold winter, living amid the mountains of western Maine, I found myself reminiscing about the times I lived by the sea.” (Quote from her flickr set).
