Talking to Sue Tyler, Supervery, Wellington, New Zealand

The next Craft2.0 is coming closer fast. So I thought it might make sense to ask Sue Tyler – the woman behind all of this – a few questions…

Hi Sue, you must be busy as these days. What keeps you hanging in there?
Chocolate, vodka, and our lovely possee of crafters, it’s fun to make an event that you get to showcase lovely creative people…

What is exactly is Craft2.0?
Craft2.0 is an indie craft fair featuring the best and brightest of the New Zealand craft scene. Our carefully juried shows highlight a wide variety of handmade goods, including handbags and jewellery, baby gifts and paper products, clothing and housewares, one-of-a-kind plushies and original artwork.

When did you start Craft2.0?
It’s over a year now, the first Craft2.0 was held to celebrate the reopening of TheNewDowse in Feburary 2007. It was intended as a one off, but it’s taken on a life of itself

Where so you see the future of Craft2.0?
Well to begin we are going to visit another city in NZ, and nothing seemed more lovely than the home of felt.co.nz Christchurch. Also at Christchurch we are hold 3 2 hours workshops, so people can not only shop till they drop but craft the whole day long.
Monthly workshops are also in the plans for wellington, and of course Craft2.0 will return to TheNewDowse in October.
YAY!

What do you love best on Craft2.0?
Now that’s a trick question, because I love everything. But on fair day, the part I like most, is popping round and visiting all the stalls, it’s fun to see how everyone is going and also if I’ve a good day selling, I get to do a little shopping myself.

Thanks, Sue! Now I leave you to it.

Next to her work keeping craft2.0 vibrant and growing, Sue has her own brand of amazing jewellery and badges at supervery.

Welcome @ The Lighthouse Keeper’s cat.
which is ... erm ... is in total flux! I decided to move my creative musing - bit by bit - to minu.co.nz (my artist / illustrator alias), and extend my blogging about all things web-ish ... for the time being ... which is the time before I get my new top secret project up.

Please bear with me! ...and enjoy the chaos between street art, printmaking, information architecture and interaction design.
