Ericailcane is one of thoses artist which just takes away my breath*. Located in Bologna Ericailcane produces etchings, street art, animations, installations, drawings and obviously what ever else there is to do.
The style of the art work reminds me of Victorian children’s illustrations with a wimsical twist, like seeing something totally familiar combined with something unknown, uncanny and very, very strange. The capture of space in the installations is amazing, like the creatures whirling around you, invading you mental space…
The project called ‘Terrible Yellow Eyes’ is a collection of Illustrations and Artwork inspired by ‘Where the Wild Things Are‘ the famous picture book by Maurise Sendak. Cory Godbey a Artist and Illustrator based in South Carolina, USA, was able to gather some really astonishing pieces from some of my favorite Artist.
I working in 2 shifts to get all the paintings for the exhibition done. I am very excited but very tired as well ^_^… Here are some images of work I have done so far!
Now… seeing that I never made it to Mail Me Art 1 –I definitely will have a go this time. Submissions should be open till December. Darren keeps it a bit open ^_^…

I stumbled upon The Magic Bottle by Camille Rose Garcia (2006, fantagraphics) in the graphic novel section in the library this week and had to take it home! It tells the story of Lulu, Sad Little Turtle and Mr. Blue. They are on a quest to save Peppermint Island the last bit of nature and free will not overrun by The Company. Read the rest of this entry »
