Last Saturday at craft 2.0 I had a chat to Lucy from felt.co.nz and told her about my current disappointment with myself, my artwork and my progress for my next show (with only 5 weeks to go). She told me about a TED talk and today sent me the link.
Elizabeth Gilbert’s talk is inspiring, comforting and strangely uplifting… A must see ^_^…
This makes me activate my sheer stubbornness and resilience, and if those will be the most mediocre illustrations ever, f*** so be it, at least I showed up ^_^…
Find of the day: The famous Brazilian streetart twins in action. Love to see their drawing techniques. I first saw their work in a book on Streetart in Brazil ‘Graffiti Brasil’ by Lost Art, Caleb Neelon, and Tristan Manco (also available in the Wellington City Library ^_^…).
Hedgehog in the Fog (Russian: Ёжик в тумане, Yozhik v tumane) is a 1975 Soviet animated film directed by Yuriy Norshteyn, produced by the Soyuzmultfilm studio in Moscow.
The little Hedgehog get side tracked in the fog on his way to meet the bear.
I can’t believe that I only discovered it today. Reminds me a bit of Zdeněk Miler’s ‘Little Mole’ from my childhood.
I working in 2 shifts to get all the paintings for the exhibition done. I am very excited but very tired as well ^_^… Here are some images of work I have done so far!
On my second day in Melbourne I decide to just stroll around rather than having a plan :-)… funnily enough this way I stumbled upon the well known Blender Gallery and Studios who organise street art tours guided by artists. For now I am content strolling to the city on my own, but if you do not have much time this might be a very good idea. They seem to be really nice www.melbournestreettours.com.
