I had this horrible day at work on Monday, so I went to the Photo Warehouse in Wellington and did some shopping. After almost a month of dithering I thought never mind getting the best bargin just go and get it and the staff at the Photo Warehouse is nice and competent. The Pentax K100 is a phase-out model, the new one is expected to be out next month, so it is quite cheap at the moment anyway ^_^… It’s my first digital SLR and for now I am totally happy with it.
You might wonder how I took a photo of the camera ^_^…

Since job-hunting in a country on the other side of the world is no bed of roses, you sometimes have to take a day off. So The Viech and I spend the day in the city, eating thai-food, drinking a lot of coffee and (window) shopping. No wonder that we found ourselves standing in front of the popup gallery once more ^_^!
The Viech got a great T-shirt from The Robinz and I promised myself again that I get one of the Ugly Dolls on Secret Mission the day I get my work permit.

On my way to buy some sushi ^_^ I passed this great design shop on cuba. Lifetime crafter Claire Terry has been making jewellery for four years, creating the Madame Fancy Pants brand in 2003. Next to her jewellery Madame Fancy Pants is selling great stuff from NZ and international artists and crafters.

Juniper - designer florist, gifts and gallery - by Mindy Dalzell in Newtown is one of my favorite shops when it comes to design toys, cards, bags made in New Zealand and especially made around Wellington. So on my last Newtown tour I was lucky Mindy was there and I asked her if i can take some pictures. I love the “bung hamster” and the “flying mermaid”!

If your are looking for a special gift you should try the Iko Iko store -118 Cuba Mall, Wellington. The store sells a variety of home accessories, design objects, postcards, plush and other strange creatures. You will find things made in New Zealand as well as nice stuff from all over the world.
