The Lighthouse Keeper’s cat

Yesterday I tested a feed on iTunes for a VodCasting project of a friend of mine and something really strange happened: Everything was fine, but after the video was downloaded iTunes didn`t play it, giving an error “file not compatible, or corrupted”. Since I tested the file offline I knew that the file was just fine! It took me quite a while till I found out what was wrong:

The Lighthouse Keepers´ cat has its final Look and Feel. There will still be some bugs and a lot of things to improve. But for now I am glad i have done it. I will test this theme for some time in the real world and hope to publish it sometimes in the future. The code validates with the exception of the etsy-mini application and there is one “non-valid” element in the css i have to use to style the <hr> with a background-image.

Whenever i try to design something for myself i just don`t get it right and nothing is good enough. So when i finally came up with a solution for the design for “The Lighthouse Keepers Cat” that was a weight off my mind and i think a relief for The Viech also, because the night before i was sitting in front of my computer crying that i can`t design anything and that i am the world biggest looser…

Flickr seems to have flagged the API key – that the wordpress plugin “FAlbum” uses – as expired without notice or explanation.
So if you don`t see your pictures anymore you can get your own API key from flickr to avoid problems in the future… erm hopefully :-).

You find more info @ the randombyte.net – forum. Just follow the instructions.

We are moving our server to (mt) so The Viech can realize some of his ruby on rails projects. So in the next days i will work on my new wordpress template and test some stuff. During this time the website will sometimes be offline or errors will occur. I will continue writing though.

So know the reorganisation is complete – for the time being :-). You can search this site, view posts by tag or categories and browse the archives. As i wrote before I am thinking about writing a new wordpress template for design(er)(s) blogs. So feedback is welcome… Tell me what features you think a blog for designer should have…

Now everything is nice and neat and i can focus on the content again. I found a lot of nice shops, stickers and i did some new pieces on my own…
